Hey! First, thank you for all the great work on modernizing the Eclipse platform. We also give our best to modernize our product in terms of (UI)-design and code best practices. I had some time at the weekend and tried out the Dual Tone Icon Pack and I really like it, its nice to see Eclipse in an updated visual state.
I also would like to share feedback in terms of some icons in the package explorer tree.
When creating a new Class, Interface, Record or whatever type, we use the context menu:
And here its super clear for me what I can create, super easy to navigate and recognize.
But when working in the tree its hard for me to distinguish:
I would expect that the indication of a Class, Interface, Record, ... is more visual recognizable in terms of the size.
I personally think that the big gray file icon is way to big and the indications of the specific type, which is defined in the file, should be bigger. Or another idea that I had, we could also use the same icon like in the context menu for the tree (I mean we do when we unfold the file, but I would like to have this indication on the file level itself and not in the nested structure:
I hope this is valuable feedback, thank you very much!
