Adding gif images as a placeholder

Hi,
I want to add gif image as a placeholder. Can Anyone Please suggest how to do it?
Or

I can show using activity indicator. But not getting the event where to stop the animation of Activity indicator. Please advice me the event to know that the image is loaded?
