Got stuck on step two, adding to plugin repositories. For those in the same spot... |

Bonjour Playback Error y a t'il une solution ? |
|
You've mentioned AIOMetadata but it doesn't seem to be found in addons marketplace in AIOStreams? |
|
Is there a way to integrate subtitles with Gelato somewhere in this pipeline? |
|
I just wanted to say that this plugin is amazing and works quite well! Thank you for creating it and continuing to work on it! I was wondering, what is the point of the custom library folders you need to create? They seem to always be empty with a stub inside. If no files are ever put inside them, can't the plugin just automatically create those folders inside its own directory and assign them to the default settings? |
|
I run Jellyfin from docker in OpenMediaVault through docker. All of it running off of a RasPi 5. I got the AIOStream setup and connected with Real-Debrid and IMDB, and can find shows and movies, but when I select a show to play I just get no source. Any help figuring out why? Movies seem to work okay for the most part when I select them. |

I just wanted to thank you for creating this amazing plugin! It took me about a week to figure it all out since I am somewhat new to self-hosting, Jellyfin and debrid services but I finally got it up and running after figuring out how to configure elfhosted aiostreams and it is up and running smoothly so far. Please continue with the development of this! This is awesome! Anyway just wanted to drop in and show my appreciation. Keep up the great work! |

i followed the guide. |

Hey all... I've been following the guide to get my self hosted instance of AIOStreams that I already have running with stremio, up and running with this. The plugin is all added and the libraries have been setup as well. I made sure I setup AIOStreams as per the guide. My search doesn't return anything from AIOStreams, only my local media. If I look at the logs, I can see a json parsing error when it is trying to fetch json from my aiostreams instance, e.g.... This is pretty early on in the logs on startup, and if I hit that URL, the aiostreams instance gives me a 404. What is it doing? |
|
@ashipaek0 how do you clear out the catalogue that is displayed in Jellyfin after you have run an import? I noticed that there was a load of adult films listed, and I wanted to sanitise it for the kids, so have edited my AIOStreams to remove out adult content from the catalogue, and now I want to clean the library listed in Jellyfin and do a fresh import. |
|
I just wanted to say thanks for this insanely good Add-On. It works flawless on my system. |

Your welcome. It's a learning experience but once you get a hang of things
the plugin will basically begin running and maintaining itself

Yeah use aiostreams as the install guide specifies. You will probably have
better luck.

Gelato + AIOStreams: setup guide
Contents
Step 1: Set up AIOStreams
Set up AIOStreams. There's a public instance at:
A. Turn on a debrid provider (required)
Go to Services, select your debrid provider, select the cogwheel, and enter your debrid API token.
Then go to the Metadata tab and enter your TMDB and TVDB keys and tokens.
B. Turn on an addon that can search (required)
Use TMDB or AIOMetadata, with their search catalogs turned on.
C. Install addons that find streams
Install addons that find the actual streams, like Comet or MediaFusion.
Finish step 1
You can also import one of the starter configs or presets that come with AIOStreams. Check the settings above afterwards, and turn your debrid provider and catalogs back on.
When you're happy with it, scroll to the bottom of the page and save. Copy the
manifest.jsonURL it shows: you need it in step 3.Step 2: Install the Gelato plugin
In Jellyfin, go to Dashboard > Plugins > Repositories.
Add this repository:
Refresh the page.
Install the Gelato plugin.
Restart Jellyfin to load the plugin.
Step 3: Run the setup assistant
Open Dashboard > Plugins > Gelato. On a new install, the setup assistant opens on its own. Later you find it under Setup assistant on the Addon tab. It's safe to run again: it starts from what you saved.
Connect: paste the
manifest.jsonURL from step 1 and select Connect. Your Jellyfin server connects to the addon, so it has to reach that address. Streams, Movie search, and Series search should have a check mark.Libraries: keep Create a new library for both (Movies, Shows), or pick a library you have, also one with your own media in it. Gelato adds a folder of its own to it and never touches your files.
Catalogs: pick the lists you want in your library, like Popular or Top rated. A few are enough to start; each one makes the import slower. Turn on Also create a collection for each catalog you pick to get a Jellyfin collection per catalog.
Choices: the defaults are fine. If a title's first stream is sometimes a dead link, turn on Try the next stream when one doesn't start, and Gelato plays the next one instead.
Select Finish setup with Import the catalogs now on. You don't need to restart: search works about 10 seconds later, and the catalogs' titles come in over the next few minutes.
3.1: Finish the libraries in Jellyfin
The assistant creates the libraries, but not their language or subtitle settings. Go to Dashboard > Libraries, select ⋮ > Manage library on each one, and set the preferred download language, the country, and the subtitle downloads the way you want them. Gelato should be first under Metadata downloaders and Image fetchers.
Step 4: Test search and playback
On the Jellyfin home screen, search for anything. You should get results. Select one and check that streams show up.
Play it. If playback starts, Gelato is set up.
Troubleshooting
No search results, and warnings in the log
Check your Jellyfin log. If it shows these warnings:
Open the Gelato settings on the Libraries tab. If a library list shows In no library: , no Jellyfin library has that folder. Pick one of your libraries there and save, or add the folder to a library in Dashboard > Libraries. Then wait for the library scan to finish.
No search results at all
Select Test on the Addon tab. If Movie search or Series search has no check mark, your AIOStreams config has nothing that can search. Go back to step 1 and turn on an addon that can search (TMDB or AIOMetadata), with its search catalogs on.
Step 5: Catalogs in depth (optional)
On the Catalogs tab of the Gelato settings, each catalog has its own Import, Collection, Max items (how many titles to import), and Library. The ? beside each column tells you more. To pick all your catalogs again in one go, run the setup assistant again.
Each catalog can import into a library of its own (an Anime, Documentaries, or Kids library) under Library. Default uses the movies and series libraries. For a new one, choose New library, type its name, and select Create folder. Then save, and add a library with that folder in Dashboard > Libraries (and finish it as in 3.1).
alloranime) needs a Mixed Movies and Shows library to keep both together. To import, select Import all below the table, the sync button in a catalog's row (that catalog alone), or run the Import Catalogs scheduled task, which can run on an interval. The buttons save the table first; the task imports what's saved.
More tips
Upgrading from an earlier Gelato
Your settings carry over; only their place changed. They're now on tabs: Addon, Libraries, Catalogs, Search (addon search, the search bar switch, unreleased titles), Playback, and Users.
If you mapped a host folder for Gelato (the old Docker setup), new library folders are created next to your movie folder, for example
/media/gelato/…. If creating one fails with a permission error, set Gelato folder to a path Jellyfin can write to, for example/tmp/gelato.All reactions
