Scrolling sometimes produces bounce-backs. If you scroll in one direction, suddenly, the scroll direction is suddenly reversed.

Possible fix available in PR #908: #908

The behavior described here (single-direction scrolling occasionally reversing / bouncing back) matches the root cause investigated in that PR. The patch adds confirmation before treating a brief opposite-direction pulse as a real reversal, which prevented the issue during local validation.
