Immersive Autopilot

A NeoForge 1.21.1 flight-planning and air-traffic-control extension for Immersive Aircraft.

Aircraft can create and follow their own flight plans anywhere. Towers are optional infrastructure that provide public routes, speed control, radar coverage, and traffic services.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.x
  • Immersive Aircraft 1.2.2+ (NeoForge)

Quick Start

  1. Install an Autopilot Unit in an Immersive Aircraft upgrade slot.
  2. Sit in the pilot seat and press . to open the Flight Planner.
  3. Left-click the map to add waypoints, or enter exact X/Y/Z coordinates.
  4. Choose Guidance Only for visual navigation or Start Autopilot for automatic flight.
  5. Save useful plans to your personal route library for use in other aircraft.

Guidance does not require an Autopilot Unit. Unsupported aircraft can still use guidance and flight plans.

Controls

  • .: open the Flight Planner while piloting an aircraft.
  • ,: toggle autopilot for the current flight plan.
  • ': cycle through saved personal flight plans.
  • Flight Planner map: left-click to add/select, click an existing route leg to insert a waypoint, right-drag to pan, mouse wheel to zoom.

All controls can be changed in Minecraft's key-binding settings.

Flight Planner

  • Create routes without a tower.
  • Add named waypoints from the map or exact coordinates.
  • Set waypoint altitude and target engine power.
  • Engine targets are entered as percentages; legacy 0.0 to 1.0 values are still accepted.
  • Reorder waypoints from each list row or delete them. Legacy tower arrow links are converted to the actual flight order.
  • Set the final waypoint engine target to 0 to request landing, braking, and a full stop at that coordinate.
  • Use Direct To for a single destination.
  • Save up to 32 personal flight plans; the active plan remains attached to the aircraft.
  • Current waypoint progress is stored on the aircraft and restored after reconnecting.
  • Temporary Xaero markers are removed when the pilot leaves the aircraft.

At small window sizes or high GUI scale, the planner switches to separate Map, Route, and Library tabs instead of overlapping its controls.

The map uses live terrain colors, hill shading, contour bands, direction arrows, a coordinate grid, and a scale readout. During steep climbs, autopilot limits pitch to avoid stalls and automatically uses an approximately 80-block climbing orbit when a waypoint is too close to reach directly.

Tower

The Tower interface is split into three pages:

  • Overview: power, real scan range, installed automation support, nearby aircraft, and binding.
  • Route Library: public tower routes and the full-screen route planner.
  • ATC Settings: service targeting and optional advanced airspace messages.

Tower route recommendations are non-blocking. Pilots receive a HUD notification, then explicitly accept them as guidance, accept them with autopilot, or decline them in the Flight Planner.

Place a Radar within the tower's 5x5x5 support area to extend its actual scan range. Install Tower Auto Support in a nearby Radar to enable waypoint speed configuration.

Radar And Alerts

  • Radar displays aircraft coordinates, altitude, speed, and pilot direction.
  • Traffic Alert predicts close approaches and highlights conflicting aircraft.
  • The Radar Range Sensor visualizes real tower coverage.
  • Terrain warnings and autopilot status appear above the aircraft exit hint.

Xaero Minimap

Xaero Minimap integration is optional. Active flight plans create temporary navigation markers; only markers created by Immersive Autopilot are removed on route completion or dismount.

Build

./gradlew build

Output JARs are written to build/libs.
