How come this addon has voilated the web store policy? is there any plans to have a new version for chrome?

Hey,

Because the name of an extension can't have WhatsApp in it. The extension should get some configuration option to add /remove sites that will get times replaced.

At the moment I don't have the time to fix it, but it is possible to download this repo, extract the contents, and add the extension manually from disk. You can do that by going to chrome://extensions/, enable developer mode, and click Load Unpacked
