Alias edit fails when LDAP user has uppercase letters in username #8074

Description

@lucagasparini

Description

When using the internal LDAP account provider, an alias associated with a user whose username starts and ends with uppercase letters is resolved as a lowercase external email address. Saving the alias then fails with validation errors.

Steps to reproduce

  • Configure the internal LDAP account provider.
  • Create a user with uppercase letters in the username, for example Pippo_P
  • Create an alias associated with that user, for example pippo.p@example.com
  • Open the newly created alias in edit mode
  • Click Modify

Expected behavior

The alias destination should remain associated with the internal user Pippo_P and should be saved successfully.

Actual behavior

The alias destination is shown as pippo_p, recognized as an external email address.
Saving the alias fails with:

Validation errors: [(root): Must validate one and only one schema (oneOf) destinations.0: Must validate one and only one schema (oneOf) destinations.0.dtype: destinations.0.dtype must be one of the following: "user", "group", "public", "apo" (root): Must validate all the schemas (allOf) (root): Must validate all the schemas (allOf)]
