Senior Rust engineer with 7+ years of systems programming across embedded firmware, backend, and blockchain infrastructure. Most recently building rollup infrastructure (block building and OP Stack integration) at Espresso Systems.

Experience

Senior Rust Developer · Infrastructure @ Espresso

Nov 2023 – Jun 2026

Stack: Rust, tokio, Go, Solidity, AWS Nitro Enclaves

  • Primary author of the reference block builder for HotShot, the sole block builder in continuous production on Espresso mainnet since Nov 2024 and the source of the large majority of the chain's ~20M blocks. Designed the builder state coordinator, private-mempool backpressure, and block-size limiting.
  • Primary implementer of OP Stack integration with the Espresso network, enabling Optimism-based rollups to use Espresso for fast confirmations (seconds rather than ~16 minutes). Wide range of patches across batcher, op-node, kona and L1 contracts.
  • Contributor to HotShot, Espresso's BFT consensus implementation: the block/header type and trait surface, the VID dispersal path, consensus event plumbing, and the builder integration boundary.
  • Built the Go SDK's transaction streaming and block decoding.

Rust Developer @ Soramitsu

Apr 2022 – Nov 2023

Stack: Rust, tokio, Python, PyO3, Nix

  • Core team on Iroha 2, a BFT distributed ledger: the permission and authorization subsystem, block/transaction query APIs, and the Kura storage engine, including the write lockfile and world-state-view snapshots.
  • Designed and built iroha-squash, the state-migration tool for Iroha 2, which squashes a full blockstore into a single genesis block and migrates state across six incompatible ledger versions over five upgrade paths.
    • Each version is compiled as a separate dynamic library behind a C ABI to sidestep unresolvable multi-version dependency conflicts; a proc-macro crate generates conversions between types that are structurally identical but nominally distinct to the compiler.
  • Sole maintainer of the Iroha 2 Python bindings; rebuilt the codegen layer to keep the client in sync with the Rust type definitions across releases.

Rust Developer @ Kupibilet

Nov 2021 – Apr 2022

Stack: Rust

  • Integrated third-party airline API with the company's aggregator engine

Apr 2021 – Nov 2021

Stack: Rust, tokio, hyper, PostgreSQL

  • Developed backend applications in Rust with PostgreSQL as the database
  • Created tools for integrating various avionics devices

Embedded Software Developer @ embedded-systems contractor

Dec 2018 – Jul 2020 (part-time) · Jul 2020 – Apr 2021 (full-time)

Stack: C, FreeRTOS, STM32 (Cortex-M7)

  • Sole firmware developer for an STM32 microcontroller (Cortex-M7 @ 200 MHz, 512 KB RAM) driving the peripheral I/O of a larger multi-processor board, organized around a FreeRTOS-based driver and command-shell architecture.
  • Built a USB host stack on top of ST's USB middleware, enumerating and driving multiple device classes: mass storage, HID, hub and a custom vendor class.
  • Implemented masking layer across five buses (USB, SDIO, SPI, UART, 1-Wire): each driver applies and verifies an XOR keystream coordinated with an on-board FPGA.
  • Wrote an inter-processor SDIO bridge to a companion Linux SoC sustaining ~1 MB/s bidirectional.
