- Line 844: In the profile read flow, update the watermark writes guarded by
new_facts and new_summaries to run unconditionally after each read, using
next_watermark with the existing starting watermark and result collection so
empty reads preserve their watermark. Add a regression test for an empty read
followed by an insert at the same timestamp, verifying the inserted row is not
skipped.
- Around line 844-849: In update_profile, persist the profile watermarks and
last-run metadata only after the MEMORY.md write succeeds with at least 40
characters. If complete_text raises or returns insufficient text, return an
unsuccessful result without advancing those markers; preserve the existing
watermark calculations on success.

…ep by (time, id) Rows saved in the same clock tick (Windows moves its clock every 15.6 ms) share a timestamp. Ordering of messages, facts and summaries now breaks ties by rowid or id. Profile upkeep and chat compression keep a watermark of the newest timestamp read plus the ids read at it (store.db.after_watermark / next_watermark), so a row saved in the same tick after a read is picked up next time instead of skipped. A pre-upgrade
sessions.context_uptovalue is a plain timestamp.after_watermark()intentionally turns that value intocreated_at > context_upto. Therefore, compression excludes unread messages created at exactly the legacy timestamp. If a later compression run reads newer messages and updates
context_upto, the omitted messages remain permanently unread. Handle the legacy timestamp in the compression consumer with an explicit recovery policy before advancing the cursor. Do not changeafter_watermark()globally: the helper cannot know which same-timestamp messages the old compression run already folded, so an unconditional inclusive read could fold messages twice. The consumer must migrate or replay the legacy boundary while preserving the folded-message state.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Closes #236
Summary
Rows saved at the same moment share a
created_at/updated_at. Two fixes:Tie-breaks. Every place that orders messages, facts or summaries by time now breaks ties by
rowid(orfacts.id): the chat's outside-content classification,messages_between(history time search), the memory graph, user-model facts and summaries, and profile upkeep's fact and summary reads.recent_messagesalready had it (#235).Watermarks (
store.db.after_watermark/next_watermark): the mark is the newest timestamp read plus the ids read at it, not the wall clock.context_upto, or the 30-day starting point) still means "strictly newer", so existing data keeps working.profile_last_runstill decides when upkeep runs. They still happened in the steer burst.
Merge Danger
Door: mostly two-way. No schema change, and the two new meta keys are ignored by older builds. One catch:
sessions.context_uptonow holds JSON for chats this build compresses. If you roll back, an older build comparescreated_at > '{"at": ...', which is never true, so it stops compressing those chats (they keep their existing summary; nothing is lost). Clearingcontext_uptoon those rows fixes it.Blast Radius: memory upkeep. Profile upkeep, chat compression and the order of a few internal history reads change; chat, tasks and the API contract are unchanged.
