Homebrew: Remove deprecated URL verification parameter. #315

Closed

Description

@JJJ

Homebrew emits a deprecation warning when loading the Pasted 1.0.1 cask from getpasted/homebrew-tap:

Warning: Calling the `verified` parameter in the `url` stanza is deprecated! Use the default URL verification behaviour instead.
Please report this issue to the getpasted/homebrew-tap tap (not Homebrew/* repositories), or even better, submit a PR to fix it:
/opt/homebrew/Library/Taps/getpasted/homebrew-tap/Casks/pasted.rb:5

The published cask in getpasted/homebrew-tap (Casks/pasted.rb) and this repository's release generator (scripts/render-homebrew-cask.js) both include verified: "github.com/getpasted/pasted/" in the url stanza. Updating only the tap would allow a later release to reintroduce the warning.

Remove the deprecated parameter and its preceding continuation comma from both the published cask and the release generator, using Homebrew's default URL verification behavior. Preserve the download URL, version, SHA-256 checksum, app, and CLI artifacts.

Acceptance criteria:

  • Homebrew loads the updated tap cask without this deprecation warning.
  • The release generator produces a valid cask without the deprecated parameter.
  • The existing download URL and SHA-256 integrity check remain intact.

Track the generator change here for 1.0.2 and coordinate the corresponding fix in getpasted/homebrew-tap.
