I realized after I did #873 that there were still some rounding issues, here's a better fix.
What I did now I have been using in production for years and it works with existing tests and the additional tests that it was not working with.
edit: you might wonder why I submitted the other code when I already had this from before. It was simply because I thought it was a better way of solving the issue. Which I now realize it was not.
