Which Linear task belongs to this PR?

EXSC-1221

Why did I implement it this way?

This addresses the change request on ethereum/clear-signing-erc7730-registry#2955. Before writing any field, I checked each comment against the facet source.

tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts

  • BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY lists, per bridge facet, the components that decide amount, recipient, token, fee or refund address without being checked against _bridgeData. It replaces BRIDGE_EXTRA_RECEIVERS/BRIDGE_EXTRA_FIELDS. Where _bridgeData misstates the transfer, the entry also sets a sentence or amount label. Examples:
    • Mayan's swap path bridges mayanAmountIn.
    • Polymer deducts polymerTokenFee.
    • The deposit-address facets send funds to a deposit address or solver.
    • Squid's _bridgeData.receiver is the recipient on route 1 (CallBridge) and the refund address on routes 0 and 2, which use destinationAddress. A descriptor can't branch on routeType, so the sentence names neither address and the labels say which route uses which.
    • DeBridgeDln, Stargate and PaxosTransit sentences name the recipient or endpoint the facet actually uses (_deBridgeData.receiver, dstEid and sendParams.to, destEID), not the unchecked _bridgeData values. DeBridgeDln also shows orderAuthorityDst, which can cancel the order and choose the refund address.
    • AcrossV4 and LiFiIntentEscrowV2 output multipliers are shown raw: they include the token decimal difference, so a percentage would be wrong whenever the decimals differ.
  • validateFacetFields fails generation when a listed path or tokenPath is missing from the facet ABI or has a different type.
  • bytes32 recipients keep a raw field, because they can hold a non-EVM address. They also get an addressName field over the [12:32] slice (GasZip: [0:20]).
  • Destination-chain amounts and tokens stay raw. The calldata encoding drops tokenAmount.chainIdPath, so a device would look the token up on the source chain.
  • Every swap input is shown (_swapData.[].fromAmount), because LibAsset.depositAssets pulls each one.
  • Every bridge format shows @.value ("Native Value Sent").
  • AcrossV4, Chainflip, LiFiIntentEscrowV2 and StargateV2 accept destination calls, so their formats show hasDestinationCall.
  • validateIntentPlaceholders checks that every {placeholder} in a sentence is a displayed field.
  • Removed the swapTokensGeneric template; that function is retired.

tasks/generateClearSigningTests.ts

  • Every displayed component gets a non-zero value.
  • Across v1 and Superset cases run on Base (8453); the mainnet diamond doesn't route them.
  • Four variant cases: two deposited swap inputs, an AcrossV4 destination call, a RelayDepository native asset, and a Mayan non-EVM destination.
  • --check --tests lets a label over an array path (_swapData.[].fromAmount) repeat once per element. Any other label must still appear exactly once, in order.

config/clearSigningTests.json has 78 cases. Each was rendered with sourcifyeth/clear-signing-test-runner, and I read every expectation.

destinationChainId stays raw, as the doc explains. The chainId format mislabels LI.FI chain ids 999 and 1337, and an enum can't hold ids above 255.

Validation

  • erc7730 lint --require-verified (version pinned by the sync workflow) on the merged descriptor: no errors. As in the sync, it excludes the two deployments on chains Sourcify doesn't support (somnia 5031, nibiru 6900).
  • Reference runner: all 78 cases render, and no displayed value is empty or zero.
  • generateClearSigningTests.ts --check --tests passes.
  • bun test tasks/generateLedgerClearSigning.test.ts passes.
  • Type check and oxlint pass on both TS files; markdownlint passes on the doc.

After merge: syncLedgerClearSigning.yml has been disabled since 2026-09-07. It needs re-enabling, or one dispatch, so #2955 picks up this change.

…(EXSC-1221)

Addresses the change request on ethereum/clear-signing-erc7730-registry#2955.

- BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY lists, per bridge facet, the components that set
amount, recipient, token, fee or refund address independently of
_bridgeData, validated against the facet ABI
- swap-and-bridge and multi-swap formats show every _swapData entry
- every bridge format shows @.value; facets accepting destination calls
  show hasDestinationCall
- sentence placeholders must be displayed fields
- fixtures: values for every displayed field, Across v1 and Superset on
Base, four variant cases, rendered with the reference runner
- --check --tests allows a label over an array path to repeat

Walkthrough

The proposal builder now generates bridge-specific display formats and represents every deposited swap input. Fixture generation supports variant-specific values and checks displayed fields, including repeated labels for array paths. Sync validation checks fixture cases against the merged descriptor.

Changes

Clear-signing format generation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Bridge display fields and validation
tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts, docs/ClearSigningProposal.md
The builder defines facet display fields, resolves ABI paths, and validates field types and intent placeholders. The documentation describes configured fields and rendering rules.
Bridge and swap format generation
tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts, docs/ClearSigningProposal.md
Bridge start and swap-and-start formats share a builder. Swap formats cover every deposited input with array paths. The retired swapTokensGeneric template is removed, and destination-call visibility depends on facet configuration.
Variant fixtures and label checks
tasks/generateClearSigningTests.ts, .github/workflows/syncLedgerClearSigning.yml, docs/ClearSigningProposal.md
Fixture generation supports path-specific component values and case overrides, and adds variant cases. Validation supports byte-slice paths, repeated labels for array-iterated fields, conditional fields, and rejection of unmatched cases during sync.

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 4aecf

The clear-signing tooling can still pass fixtures that fail to verify some displayed fields. The DeBridgeDln label may also mislead users about who receives a cancellation refund. Resolve these before merging, or explicitly accept them.

…gate, Paxos (EXSC-1221)

- Squid: the sentence no longer names destinationAddress, which route 1
(CallBridge) ignores; labels say which route uses which address
- DeBridgeDln, Stargate, PaxosTransit: sentences name the recipient and
  endpoint the facet uses rather than the unchecked _bridgeData values;
RelayDepository says the order is filled off-chain
- DeBridgeDln shows orderAuthorityDst, which can cancel and pick the refund
- AcrossV4 and LiFiIntentEscrowV2 multipliers are raw: they include the
token decimal difference, so a percentage is wrong across decimals
- Across v1 shows relayerFeePct; Optimism and MegaETH show assetIdOnL2
- AllBridge fee label says its unit depends on payFeeWithSendingAsset
- Squid fixture uses distinct receiver and destinationAddress

Replace the stale BRIDGE_EXTRA_RECEIVERS reference with BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY.

This PR replaces the BRIDGE_EXTRA_RECEIVERS table with BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY (Line 64 and the builder). Line 165 still says that a new BRIDGE_EXTRA_RECEIVERS entry fails --check. That identifier no longer exists. A maintainer who follows this text will look for a table that is gone.

📝 Proposed fix
-- **No displayed field may render a zero value.** A `Non-EVM Recipient: 0x0…0` fixture is worthless. `--check` catches this statically and runs in `verifyClearSigning.yml`, so a new `BRIDGE_EXTRA_RECEIVERS` entry fails our PR rather than reaching the registry.

- config/clearSigningTests.json: remove the two NEAR v1 cases

- Show "Native Value Sent" only on payable bridge functions; non-payable
cases (Celer, Eco, Gnosis, M0, PolymerCCTP) now send no value.
- DeBridgeDln: label `_deBridgeData.receiver` as the recipient and
`_bridgeData.receiver` as reported; the order authority does not get
  the refund.
- Squid: `destinationAddress` is the destination contract on routes 0, 2.
- Squid, Stargate, PaxosTransit: mark `destinationChainId` as reported,
  not checked.
- PaxosTransit: show protocol and integrator fees deducted from the
amount, the integrator fee recipient, and name the LayerZero fee.

Descriptor:
- PolymerCCTP: Solana token account and Stellar forwarder hook.
- Arbitrum, Optimism, MegaETH, Polygon, Omni: name the bridge's fixed
  destination; label destinationChainId as ignored.
- Squid: amount in depositAssetId on start, Axelar token symbol, source
  call targets.
- Mayan: order data, protocol contract, middle token and minimum,
8-decimal rounding; no chain claim in the sentence.
- Superset: minimum received and fallback recipient.
- Symbiosis, ThorSwap: recipient and chain labelled not enforced.
- AcrossV4Swap: route and per-route recipient check; AcrossV4: the token
  the spoke pool takes.
- Fields read on one path only (non-EVM recipients, call receivers,
route-only fees) use visible.ifNotIn so they show only when set.
- Arbitrum gas price in gwei; Optimism/MegaETH custom-bridge flag;
Paxos swap refund always shown; multi-step swaps "Swap Step Input".

Fixtures: per-function base cases with inputs each facet accepts, real
chains and tokens, a DEX router as swap target, an encoded Mayan order,
and Solana, Stellar and Chainflip destination-call variants.

NEARIntents, Eco, Symbiosis swap; Mayan start; Frax.
- Garden, RelayDepository, GasZip: recipient/chain marked reported;
GasZip drops the EVM slice of its recipient.
- Stargate recipient not checked with a destination call; Chainflip
  call receiver says it is paid; Superset shows the output omni-token;
AcrossV4 token bridged is ERC-20 only, intent drops the bare amount.
- Swap steps show requiresDeposit ("Swap Step Taken From Wallet").
- DeBridgeDln: the order authority chooses the cancellation refund

--check --rejectUnmatched now fails a case with no calldata selector.

Fixtures: Base WETH on Base, Optimism USDC as Paxos wantAsset, Chainflip
asset 7 for Arbitrum, Mayan Solana order matching nonEVMReceiver, a
Sponsored OFT quote for AcrossV4Swap, an approve as Squid source call;
new variants for PolymerCCTP HyperCore, AcrossV4 native, and Optimism /
MegaETH native and custom bridge. resolvePath handles negative slices.

# Severity Type Issue / File
1 🟡 Medium Code Stargate headline shows only the low 20 bytes of a bytes32 recipient — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:1088
2 🟡 Medium Test gap New fail-closed validators have no unit test and cannot be imported — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.test.ts (new)
3 🟡 Medium Code (plausible) Destination-call payload is not displayed — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:568
4 🟡 Medium Code (plausible) LiFiIntentEscrowV2 oracle, settler and expiry are not displayed — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:804
5 🟡 Medium Code (plausible) A facet missing from BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY ships with no check — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:1173
6 🟡 Medium Code (plausible) Swap templates and token-path types are not validated against the ABI — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:1651

1. [Medium] Stargate headline shows only the low 20 bytes of a bytes32 recipient
bytes32RecipientFields always emits an addressName row over [12:32] with no condition on the upper 12 bytes, and Stargate's intent sentence uses only {_stargateData.sendParams.to.[12:32]}. StargateFacetV2 checks only address(uint160(uint256(to))), so for a non-EVM dstEid the sentence can name an address the funds do not go to; the raw to row sits apart from the sentence. Put the raw to in the sentence (or drop the slice), relabel the slice row "low 20 bytes", and add a variant case with non-zero upper bytes.

2. [Medium] Test gap — tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.test.ts (new)

  • Missing: validateFacetFields rejections — missing component, type mismatch, unresolved tokenPath, amountTokenPath that is not an address (TypeScript unit)
  • Missing: validateIntentPlaceholders rejection for a hidden or absent placeholder (TypeScript unit)
  • Missing: labelsMatch/checkCoverage/checkVisibleFields — repeated non-array label rejected, missing/extra trailing label rejected, conditional skip only when the label is absent (TypeScript unit)
  • Missing: exact slice params for bytes32 recipients and GasZip (TypeScript unit)
  • Blocker: neither task file exports anything and both run main() at import; guard it with import.meta.main and export the helpers (.agents/rules/200-typescript.md:132).

3. [Medium] Destination-call payload is not displayed (plausible)
AcrossV4, Chainflip, StargateV2 and LiFiIntentEscrowV2 show only the boolean Destination Call, not _acrossData.message, dstCallSwapData or composeMsg; Squid shows destinationAddress but not _squidData.payload, and has no acceptsDestinationCall flag. The destination call replaces the recipient check, so a bare boolean leaves it unreviewable. Confirm by a requirement that destination-call content be reviewable; otherwise show the payloads raw or document the limitation.

4. [Medium] LiFiIntentEscrowV2 oracle, settler and expiry are not displayed (plausible)
The entry omits inputOracle, outputOracle, outputSettler, expires and fillDeadline, which _startBridge passes into StandardOrder unchecked against _bridgeData. Add them, or record the omission as accepted.

5. [Medium] A facet missing from BRIDGE_FACET_DISPLAY ships with no check (plausible)
facetFields() returns [] for an unlisted facet, so validation has nothing to check. Fail generation when a bridge facet has no entry (explicit empty entries may opt out) or a table key matches no ABI function. No facet is affected at this SHA.

6. [Medium] Swap templates and token-path types are not validated against the ABI (plausible)
validateFacetFields runs only for bridge formats; SWAP_TEMPLATES entries are emitted unchecked and tokenPath is not required to be an address. Run componentType over every swap path and tokenPath and require address for token paths.

Summary

Round 3 of the EF review changes only descriptor display data and the descriptor generator; no src/ contract changed. Checked against the head:

  • Tempo exclusion — buildDeploymentsFromRepo now skips chains whose nativeCurrency is N/A. config/networks.json at head has tempo as the only such chain, so the registry descriptor drops it as intended. A unit-test case covers it.
  • Output ratio — outputAmountMultiplier (AcrossV4, LiFiIntentEscrowV2) is shown as unit, base %, decimals 16, so 1e18 renders as 100%. The label says "raw units", which keeps the decimals caveat.
  • Centrifuge recipient — removed from NON_EVM_FACETS and labelled plain Recipient. CentrifugeFacet._validateCentrifugeData reverts InvalidReceiver on the non-EVM sentinel, so the claim holds.
  • GasZip recipient — adds a [0:20] addressName slice beside the raw bytes32. The value is right-padded, so the first 20 bytes are the address; the fixture agrees.
  • Intent destination-call receiver — hidden when zero, with a new destination call fixture case that shows it.
  • Superset refund and fallback recipients — now always shown.

CI on the head is green (run-ts-tests, audit checks, signed commits, Aikido, CodeQL).

Review routing: broad · score 100 · delta re-review (1 commit); no fresh finding at or above the Low convergence floor.

Test Coverage

Layer Score Files reviewed
TypeScript unit (tasks/**/*.test.ts) Partial generateLedgerClearSigning.test.ts gains a Tempo case; display validators remain the accepted gap (#2)
Static check / fixture (verifyClearSigning.yml: generator diff + --check --tests) Partial config/clearSigningTests.json regenerated, including the new destination-call case

Zeus did not run any test, per lane policy; CI results were read instead.

Knowledge applied

  • Ledger clear-signing descriptors: fees and @.value render as native currency, which is why chains without one are excluded.

Downstream Impact

  • EF registry PR #2955 picks this up only after merge and a dispatched syncLedgerClearSigning.yml. No diamond cut or redeploy is needed.
  • The registry descriptor no longer lists Tempo (chain 4217) deployments.
  • EXSC-1224 tracks the accepted items (🔧 more updates #1–Verify Fuse pool #6).
  • No audit step: no src/ contract changed.

Refuted candidates — none.

Requesting changes on 2 items — each requires either a code fix or an explicit acceptance comment with justification before this review is considered complete. (Findings #1, #2, #4 and #5 from the previous review are accepted by the author and tracked in EXSC-1224.)

# Severity Type Issue / File
3 🟡 Medium Code tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:568 — destination-call payload is not displayed (plausible)
6 🟡 Medium Code tasks/buildClearSigningProposal.ts:1651 — swap templates and token-path types are not validated against the ABI (plausible)

3. [Medium] Destination-call payload is not displayed (plausible)
AcrossV4, Chainflip, StargateV2 and LiFiIntentEscrowV2 are flagged acceptsDestinationCall, but only the boolean Destination Call is shown; _acrossData.message, _chainflipData.dstCallSwapData, sendParams.composeMsg and _lifiIntentData.dstCallSwapData are not. Squid shows destinationAddress but not _squidData.payload, which SquidFacet forwards to the router. The call replaces the recipient check, so a boolean alone leaves it unreviewable. Fix: show each payload raw as an optional field, or document the limitation in docs/ClearSigningProposal.md and drop the "every field that decides" framing.

6. [Medium] Swap templates and token-path types are not validated against the ABI (plausible)
validateFacetFields runs only in the bridge branch (:1672); the swapTokens* branch emits SWAP_TEMPLATES[fn.name] directly (:1652-1663), and tokenPath only has to resolve, not be an address (:1208-1212). --check in CI backstops a _swapData rename but not tokenPath, hidden or conditional fields, or field types. Fix: run componentType over every SWAP_TEMPLATES/SWAP_INPUT_FIELDS path and tokenPath, and require address for token paths.

@lifi-qa-agent both remaining findings are accepted without a code change in this PR. The descriptor is synced to the EF registry (ethereum/clear-signing-erc7730-registry#2955) and under review there. Both are tracked in EXSC-1224.

#3, destination-call payload not shown. Accepted. The payloads (_acrossData.message, dstCallSwapData, composeMsg, _squidData.payload) are opaque bytes that a wallet can only show as raw hex. The descriptor shows the Destination Call flag, and recipient labels say when the recipient isn't checked (for example, Stargate's "not checked when Destination Call is true"). Showing each payload raw as an optional field is tracked in EXSC-1224.

#6, swap templates and token-path types not checked against the ABI. Accepted. The swap formats are covered by erc7730 lint, which checks display field paths against the ABI, and by the 85-case fixture rendered in CI. Running componentType over the swap paths and requiring address for token paths is tracked in EXSC-1224.

- Leave chains without a native currency (Tempo) out of the registry
descriptor: FraxFacet there charges the LayerZero fee in pathUSD, and
the descriptor shows fees and value as native currency.
- Show the AcrossV4 and LiFiIntentEscrowV2 output multiplier as a
  percentage of raw units.
- Label the Centrifuge recipient as plain Recipient: the facet rejects
  the non-EVM sentinel.
- Name the GasZip recipient through a [0:20] slice.
- Hide the intent destination call receiver when zero, and add a
destination call case that shows it.
- Always show the Superset refund and fallback recipients.
