Tool

PicShift Metadata Remover

I maintain PicShift and am submitting one direct tool page rather than the multi-tool homepage.

Why it fits the list

  • Browser-based — metadata inspection and image re-encoding run in the browser
  • Direct link — the URL opens the metadata-removal tool itself
  • Free to use — no account, trial, paywall, or metered quota
  • Relevant to image workflows — it can inspect supported EXIF, GPS, camera, timestamp, software, and thumbnail fields before an image is shared

Scope and limits

The tool re-encodes accepted images without intentionally copying supported fields it detects; it does not claim to remove every possible metadata block. Source image content is processed locally, while ordinary page-delivery and analytics requests may still occur.

The current browser-stability limits are 50 MB per file, 200 files, and 1 GB per batch. These are technical processing limits, not paid usage quotas.

Hey pod4g! Thanks for your submission! 🚀

To keep awesome-devtools instantly accessible for everyone, all tools must be:

  • Browser-based — no downloads or native app installs
  • Direct link — goes straight to the tool (not a multi-tool landing page)
  • 100% free — no signups, trials, paywalls, or usage limits

Please make sure your PR meets these criteria. It may take some time for your submission to be reviewed — you can occasionally comment with a "bump" to bring more attention to it.

Thanks for contributing! 🙌
