To create a dedicated, central directory on the ONM website (open-neuromorphic.org/jobs/ or /help-wanted/) and a structured submission pipeline for advertising PhD positions, Postdoc vacancies, research fellowships, and industry roles in neuromorphic computing and sensing.
🧠 Problem & Opportunity
Hiring is one of the highest-volume activities in our community (our Discord #job-theses-phd-board is consistently active, and survey data shows over 50% of active members are looking for projects/positions). However, Discord posts are ephemeral and hard for search engines or non-Discord users to find.
Establishing a formal, web-hosted Jobs Board:
Provides massive value to PIs, labs, and industry sponsors seeking specialized neuromorphic talent.
Creates an authoritative, SEO-indexed landing page for early-career researchers entering the field.
Gives ONM a concrete benefit to offer partners and sponsors.
🧾 Key Outcomes & Deliverables
Standardized Submission Template: A GitHub Issue template / web submission form for PIs and recruiters to submit open positions.
Website Directory Page: A structured Hugo archetype and page layout (/jobs/ or /opportunities/) categorized by:
PhD Positions
Postdoc & Academic Roles
Industry & Startup Positions
Student Internships & MSc Projects
Discord & Social Media Integration: Automated or semi-automated cross-posting of new listings to Discord #job-theses-phd-board and LinkedIn.
Expiration & Hygiene System: A lightweight process (or front-matter tag) to archive filled or stale listings after 90 days.
🗺️ Scope
In Scope: Academic (PhD/Postdoc/MSc) and open-source-aligned industry job listings; submission guidelines; site rendering.
Out of Scope: Acting as a recruiting agency or handling applicant resumes directly (we route applicants straight to the host lab's application link).
