Closes #290

Preview scenarios: pillar/tenant/owner, pillar/tenant/settings

Summary

  • Switch packages/db from Prisma sqlserver to postgresql with ADR 0005 @db.VarChar(n) sizing baked into a single 20260828110000_init_postgresql migration (replaces the T-SQL history).
  • Update preview schema generation for canonical postgresql → SQLite previews, including stripping directUrl so Neon env vars do not break local integration tests.
  • Add Neon project wiring (neon.ts, scripts/neon-env-pull.sh, skills) for the Platform Kit PoC project.

Test plan

  • npx prisma validate in packages/db
  • pnpm --filter @poc-plattform-kit/db test (preview schema + seed integration)
  • prisma migrate deploy against empty Neon neondb branch (human / reviewer with neon env pull)
  • Seed pillar/tenant/owner scenario against PostgreSQL connection

Feedback focus

  • Does init_postgresql capture every table/index/constraint from the retired SQL Server migrations (especially filtered unique on tenant_invitations)?
  • Is dropping the Azure SQL entity_id_column_sizing + preflight script acceptable now that greenfield Postgres ships correct widths?

Known SQLite vs SQL Server limitations

Preview scenarios still run on SQLite; PostgreSQL-specific types and constraints are validated via prisma migrate deploy on Postgres only.

and align CI/staging dummy DATABASE_URL values with the new provider.

Depends on #256. Neon cutover and Azure SQL removal land in #291/#292.

Reviewer's Guide

This PR replaces the SQL Server Prisma baseline with a consolidated PostgreSQL initialization migration, updates the canonical-to-SQLite preview transformation and documentation, and adds CI, deployment, local environment, and Neon project wiring; reviewers should prioritize migration parity, PostgreSQL deployment validation, and the implications of removing the Azure SQL sizing safeguards.

Assessment against linked issues

Issue Objective Addressed Explanation
#290 Switch packages/db to Prisma's PostgreSQL provider, including the required column annotations, regenerated client configuration, and updated related documentation/references. ✅
#290 Replace the SQL Server migration history with a single PostgreSQL init migration and update migration_lock.toml so a clean PostgreSQL database can be provisioned with the complete schema, indexes, and constraints. ✅
#290 Ensure preview schema generation and seed tooling remain functional, and provide a PostgreSQL integration-test path that verifies migration deployment and seed scenarios against PostgreSQL. ❌ The PR updates preview generation and its tests, and reports SQLite preview/seed tests as passing. However, the PostgreSQL migration deployment and PostgreSQL seed scenario remain unchecked in the test plan, and no CI PostgreSQL service container or documented local integration-test workflow is shown. Therefore the PostgreSQL-specific acceptance criteria are not fully demonstrated or implemented.

Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to aa1d4

The preview documentation still references SQL Server validation and types even though PostgreSQL is now canonical, which may mislead contributors during setup or troubleshooting. The PR is otherwise mergeable with owner awareness and a follow-up documentation correction.

<issue_to_address>
**issue (bug_risk):** These validation and generation environments set only `DATABASE_URL`, while the new Prisma datasource also evaluates `directUrl = env("DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED")`; Prisma validate/generate therefore fails with a missing `DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED` environment-variable error before any database connection is attempted.

**Triggers:** When CI or staging runs Prisma validate/generate without a local `.env` containing `DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED`.

**Suggested fix:** Set a dummy `DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED` alongside `DATABASE_URL` in these environments, or make the direct URL configuration optional for commands that do not perform migrations.

```suggestion
      DATABASE_URL: 'postgresql://ci:ci@localhost:5432/ci?schema=public'
      DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED: 'postgresql://ci:ci@localhost:5432/ci?schema=public'
```

Fix all in Cursor

Sourcery assessment

Needs a human reviewer. 1 finding to address first, and the PR deletes the existing migration history and replaces it with a fresh PostgreSQL create-only migration, without migrating existing SQL Server or production data. If the provider or rebaseline is wrong, deployment can fail or require a destructive reset, and reverting the code does not restore the deleted migration path or any data already affected.

Blocking findings: .github/workflows/ci-api.yml:72

Ephemeral app ssd-pocpk-aca-pr-297-ae was deleted on PR close.

Neon-style directUrl is required by the PostgreSQL datasource; CI,
release, staging, and pre-push placeholders now export both URLs.

Pin the add-mcp package before merge.

Line 172 runs npx -y add-mcp without a package version. A fresh setup can execute a different registry version over time. Pin a reviewed version and verify that it supports the remote-URL command and its flags. npx supports explicit package versions. (npmjs.com)

In @.cursor/skills/neon/SKILL.md at line 172, Pin the add-mcp package version in
the manual Neon MCP installation command, replacing the unversioned add-mcp
reference while preserving the remote URL and existing flags. Use a reviewed
version that supports this command and its options.
