The major versions of our own dependencies that our requirements don't take, read on 2026-10-26 from 32 crates (Cargo.lock's versions, against crates.io), 30 npm packages (studio/package.json, against the npm registry), 4 Python requirements (python/pyproject.toml, against PyPI) and 20 GitHub Actions (the workflows' tags, against their releases). Dependabot's weekly pull request brings the minor and patch updates and leaves these out. The Releases workflow (.github/workflows/releases.yml) rewrites this every Monday with photonoxide dependencies, and comments here when a major version appears; it closes nothing.
In a pull request of its own: read its release notes, raise the requirement (Cargo.toml, studio/package.json, python/pyproject.toml, or the workflows' uses:), and fix what it breaks. When a crate's new release needs a newer Rust than rust-version, raise rust-version and the CI's MSRV job in the same pull request (AGENTS.md).
TypeScript 7 has to wait: the studio stays on 5.9 for now.
What blocks it is svelte-check (4.7.6, with svelte2tsx 0.7.61), which pnpm build runs. It embeds TypeScript's JavaScript compiler API, and its peer range is ^5.0.0 || ^6.0.0; the 7.0 package ships the native compiler with only an unstable API. svelte-check's --tsgo modes run TypeScript 7 next to a TypeScript 6 that still has to be installed as typescript, so typescript itself can't move to 7 yet. The TypeScript 7.0 announcement says the same of Svelte, Vue and Astro workflows.
Nothing left to act on: setup-python v7 and setup-miniconda v4 are in (#378), and TypeScript 7 waits for svelte-check, which doesn't support it yet (sveltejs/language-tools#3063); the studio stays on 5.9 until then. The Releases workflow reopens this when a new major version appears.

I'll move to 7 once a svelte-check release takes it as
