Option to disable music section in iPlayer WWW add-on

Hi, I'm using the iPlayer WWW add-on in Kodi and would like to request an option to disable the music section. I only use the add-on for video content and would like to streamline my Kodi experience by hiding or disabling the music section.
At this moment, disabling the music section in the iPlayer WWW add-on switches off the whole add-on. It would be very helpful to have an option to disable only the music section, while keeping the video section active.
This way, users who only want to use the add-on for video content can have a cleaner and more streamlined experience without losing functionality.

I don't think it's technicaly possible to disable the radio section by some sort of settings.

If it really bothers you, you could edit the file addon.xml to remove audio.
The file is located in <kodi-data>/addons/plugin.video.iplayerwww
Open the file in a text editor and locate this section:

<extension point="xbmc.python.pluginsource" library="default.py">
        <provides>audio video</provides>
  </extension>

Remove the text 'audio ', save the file and restart Kodi.

Since Kodi now no longer distinguishes between the audio and video section, you'll see several radio-related entries in the main menu. These can be disable in the add-on's settings, but the video-related entries will still be preceded by 'iPlayer - '

After each update, or re-install you'll have to do the same again, of course. Not quite sure if that's the streamlined experience you're after.

Thank you for the explanation, but editing the addon.xml file manually is too complicated /for me/, especially since it would need to be redone after every update.
Would it be possible to add this as a setting within the add-on itself? For example, an option in the add-on settings like "Show music/radio section: Yes / No". That way users who don't use the radio/music part could simply disable it from showing in the video section, without having to edit any files manually.
This would make it a much more user-friendly solution and wouldn't require redoing it after each update/reinstall.

iplayerwww registers itself to Kodi as both video and audio add-on. Settings only come into play once the addon is running.

I understand that Kodi registers the add-on before the add-on settings are loaded. However, I am wondering whether there could still be another technical approach or workaround to achieve this.

From a user's perspective, hiding the radio/music section when it is not used would significantly improve usability. Other add-ons sometimes offer optional functionality that can be enabled or disabled, so I was hoping something similar might be possible here as well.

Would you be willing to investigate whether there is any alternative way to implement this, even if it cannot be done through the current registration mechanism?

I fully understand if Kodi itself imposes limitations, but I would appreciate knowing whether the possibility has been explored rather than assumed impossible.
