title: AI Assistant
subtitle: Get answers about your account, debug requests, and manage your setup from a chat panel in the Alchemy Dashboard.
slug: ai-assistant
---

[Alchemy Dashboard](https://dashboard.alchemy.com) comes with a built-in AI-powered assistant to help answer your support questions, debug requests, and get you set up to build faster on Alchemy. You can ask it questions about your apps, usage, request logs, and more anytime and in any language. You can also ask it to make config changes on your behalf.

***

## Open the assistant

1. Open the [Alchemy Dashboard](https://dashboard.alchemy.com).
2. Click **Ask Alchemy** in the top bar. The assistant opens in a side panel.

The panel is available on every Dashboard page and uses the page you are on as context.

## What you can ask

### Debug failed requests

The assistant reads your [request logs](/docs/alchemy-request-logs) and request status counts. Ask it why requests to an app fail, and it finds the errors, explains the cause, and tells you how to fix it.

* "Why are my requests on my production app failing?"
* "Show me the 429 errors from the last hour."

### Understand your usage

The assistant reads your usage by product, by method, and over time.

* "Which methods use the most compute units this week?"
* "How did my usage change since yesterday?"

### Manage your setup

The assistant can create and change these items for you:

* **Apps**: create, rename, and delete apps, and rotate API keys.
* **Networks and allowlists**: turn networks on or off for an app, and edit the allowlists of an app.
* **[Webhooks](/docs/reference/webhooks-overview)**: create, update, and delete webhooks, including custom webhooks with a GraphQL query.
* **[Alerts](/docs/dashboard-alerts)**: create, update, pause, and delete usage alerts and error alerts.

Each change needs your approval before it runs.

### Find answers in the docs

The assistant searches the Alchemy docs and the support help center. Its answers include links to the pages that it used, so you can read the source.

* "How do I set up a webhook for address activity?"
* "Which networks support the Trace API?"

### Contact support

If the assistant cannot solve your problem, it can write a support ticket for you. You read the ticket and send it from the chat. The support team replies by email.

You can also click the **Contact support** icon in the panel header to open the support form yourself.

<Info>
Enterprise teams contact support through their own support channel instead of using tickets.

## Approve changes

The assistant cannot make changes on your account without your approval. Before each change, it shows a card with the details of the change.

* Click **Confirm** to make the change.
* Click **Cancel** to stop it.

Questions and reads, such as a log search or a usage report, do not need approval.

## What the assistant can see

The assistant sees only the data of the team that you have selected in the Dashboard and has the same [role permissions](/docs/dashboard-roles) as you. If your role cannot see or change an item in the Dashboard, the assistant cannot either. The assistant also cannot see full API keys or webhook signing keys.

### Chat history

Your recent conversations are saved in your browser for 7 days. Click the **Chat history** icon in the panel header to resume a previous conversation. Click the **New chat** icon to start a new conversation.

## Usage limits

The assistant has daily limits that depend on your plan:

* **Messages per day**: a limit for each user.
* **Tokens per day**: a limit for the whole team. Long conversations and large log searches use more tokens.
* **Requests per minute**: a short limit that stops many requests in a short time.

The assistant will warn you when you've reached 75% and then 90% of a daily limit. Once you reach a daily limit, the assistant stops answering and provides the time at which the limit resets. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC. If you reach the per-minute limit, you can try again after waiting a minute.

To get higher limits, upgrade your plan. The limit message includes a link to upgrade or to contact sales.
